EThiopia

In 2009, at the River Valley College in Claremont, NH, I was looking on the internet for information about Ethiopia. I was talking to my teacher about it, a man named Tedros asked, Are you studying Ethiopia? I am an Ethiopian.” I spent about an half hour to an hour listening to him tell me about coffee, foods, and languages from Ethiopia. I learned about Ethiopian foods, coffee and language.

Ethiopian food is spicy. The basic favorite food in Ethiopia is called Befer Berra, which is flat bread made of yeast and water. Some of the stuff they eat is dried spices put into ground, squishy chicken. The food in Ethiopia is spicy. In Ethiopia it is traditional to eat with your right hand.

Goats invented coffee! During one dull, dark day, the goats’ saw a fruit covered bean. The goats went over and nibbled on it. They started to get really hyper! One dull night, a farmer went and stepped in goat turds. He looked at his shoes, and there were beans on it. The next night, the farmer spied on the goats, and he saw them nibbling on a bush. He ran over and told them to ‘shoo’. He looked at the bush, and he saw some berries and picked them. He boiled some water and dropped the berries in. The outer skin of the berries started to peel off, and the inside was the coffee bean! He used the coffee beans as a spice in stews. It was not until later that the coffee drink was invented. Some genius decided to put the bean in water, heat it, and drank it!

Ethiopians have a different alphabet. Their alphabet consists of one main rule…NO a, e, o, u, not even y and I. Their alphabet has only sounds the a e I o and u’s do not have a place in it. My name “Jacob” would be called jcob sort of. It has a lot of letters in it has x3 more then we do. Ethiopians have a huge alphabet.

I learned all this information from an Ethiopian named Tedros. Researching Ethipoia became much more fun when I had someone talk to me about it. Tedros even said a whole sentences to us in Ethipoian. It didn’t have any A, I, E, O or U’s in it, but it sounded really cool and yet random to me. I am glad I met Tedros and learned about goat turd coffee.

Why I don't like fall

I don't like fall to say the least. my reason is because it is cold dark and damp well I like the dark part but other than that I despise it. well i also don't like it because my sister becomes more of a pain= she usually is cranky but during the fall her crankiness doubles. then of corse there is my aunts great danes. they get really really hyper during the fall.
